How can we create optimal physical conditions for the healing process, as an integrated part of the Center for Cancer and Health in Copenhagen? This question has been the cornerstone for the integrated light installation at the Center for Cancer and Health, where stimulating the senses through sensory surroundings in hospital and rehabilitation settings plays a crucial role.

The installation spans a corridor and communal area on the first floor of the building. It consists of parallel layers that interact with light, depth, and shifts, communicating with the surroundings and the patients who pass by. It is designed to create a space for patients, fostering a state of encounter where we become co-creators in the meaning and expression of the artwork.

By investing our own bodies and senses, we find ourselves in a dialogic spatial situation, important for connecting to our own mental resources. The installation changes depending on the perspective, creating multifaceted spatial states. The positioning in the area influences what is seen and experienced, allowing light, depth, and shadow to provide pure sensory experiences and create individual experiences.

The installation offers a contemplative and sensory experience, while also contributing to a challenging and stimulating environment in the building. This installation enhances the aesthetic appeal and play a vital role in the healing surroundings.
